They say Australia is the dessert capital of the world, but is it really? I visited a farmers’ market at The University of Warwick and boy-oh-boy does Australia have competition.
This was a small market with probably around 30 stores, but the quality of the goods was just phenomenal, both presentation AND taste. The cakes, the donuts, the brownies, the crepes, the slices… and wait for it…. PISTACHO & WALNUT BAKLAVA CAKE…… H-E-A-V-E-N (I say no more… because I’m too busy thinking about eating it).
You know when you eat too much and you’re in a food coma and can barely talk? That’s exactly how I feel just thinking back to the market and trying to type.
Yes it was a small market and despite not having the variety of your typical Melbourne markets, all the food here just screamed of having being made with love and care, and that in itself was more than enough. If I had to describe this market in one word: Decadent (yes in italics because it was a little bit fancy, hehe).
